This man (on the left, very far left) just became a United States Senator, despite many reasons for him not to be,
including this:
By Michael B. Brodkorb | June 4, 2008
St. Paul – Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Ron Carey tonight issued the following statement regarding Al Gore’s endorsement of Al Franken.
“Tipper Gore and Al Gore were right when they condemned Franken’s vile and demeaning humor directed at the daughter of Newt Gingrich. Regardless of age, regardless of party, regardless of standing, Al Franken has a pattern of offensive and cruel humor at the expense of women.
Not that Dave Letterman should have a problem with Franken on that front.
AND
”And so basically, what it looks like is going to happen is that Libby and Karl Rove are going to be executed” because “outing a CIA agent is treason,” left-wing author and radio talk show host Al Franken asserted Friday night, to audience laughter, on CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman. Franken qualified his hard-edged satire: “Yeah. And I don’t know how I feel about it because I’m basically against the death penalty, but they are going to be executed it looks like.” Franken later suggested that President Bush is at risk of receiving the same punishment, since Karl Rove likely told him what he did, but he added a caveat: “I think, by the way, that we should never ever, ever, ever execute a sitting President.”
AND
“As reported by Tom Curry of MSNBC, Al Franken, in criticizing Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, said: ‘Being a racist and a sexist was a good calling card for the Reagan administration.’
And
“Al Franken, one of the original writers for “Saturday Night Live,” has been known in recent years for his left-wing activism, with books like “Rush Limbaugh Is a Big Fat Idiot” (Rush is now quite trim) and “Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right.” Others have picked apart the errors of his books and observed that he is more nasty than funny — hardly a latter-day H.L. Mencken. As “National Review” editor Rich Lowry observed, “Comedians who aren’t funny have to become political spokesmen — thus Al Franken’s new career.”
AND
“I’ll tell you what a lot of people are thinking, and that is it looks like things are going to be over and we are going to get the clown from Minnesota,’’ Senator Imhofe said.
“They are not going to get more than 35 votes.’’
Asked if he was referring to Al Franken as the clown from Minnesota, Inhofe confirmed he was.
“I didn’t mean to be disrespectful. I don’t know the guy, but … for a living he is a clown,’’ the senator said.
“That’s what he does for a living.’’
YET BRYAN BROWN IS UNFIT TO BE LICENSED AS AN INDIANA ATTORNEY DUE TO HIS ACTIVISM ON THE RIGHT? UNFIT TO CONTINUE A 12 YEAR CAREER AT LAW SO HE CAN SUPPORT HIS SIX DEPENDENTS?
A SIGN OF THE TIMES, NO?
LET’S HOPE FRANKEN IS NOT HONORED WITH A NOTRE DAME DIPLOMA NEXT MAY.
